Raen is songwriter and musician Luke Langsjoen, accompanied by The Barbarians: Bo Ulf of Thorne (Matthew Payne), Blarn the Timekeeper (Matt Latour), Theldor the Half Mad (Jens Langsjoen), and Naesorg of the Pollen Clan (Julie Wang).

Raen and the Barbarians have been playing together for over 20 years. Burning Suns is the first time they have committed their plunders to wax for all the world to hear. Gathered in Raen’s lair of Battle Axe Studios in Lockhart, Texas, the group perfected their war strategies and techniques before traveling North to Blarn the Timekeeper’s Sound Foundation in Cedar Creek, where they began their attack in earnest. The valiant campaign saw it’s heroic completion in New Mexico at Theldor the Half Mad’s Dragon Blood Studio.

The songs on this album are strongly influenced by classical guitar, folk, and metal, as well as Raen’s PhD research in theoretical condensed matter physics. These songs were written for the realm of dreams and in the spirit of freedom.
